Andrade makes surprise appearance at House of Glory event
Andrade made a surprise appearance in the United States on Friday.
At a House of Glory event, the former WWE and AEW star surprised the crowd by appearing in the ring, confronting Charles Mason, the HOG World Champion. Mason went for the attack but Andrade ended up laying him out with the hammerlock DDT. He then took Mason’s championship and held it high, indicating he wanted a future championship match.
Andrade’s immediate future remains in the air as WWE has chosen to uphold a one-year no compete clause, something they implemented after firing Andrade for cause earlier this year. Andrade initially believed that he had no non-compete and returned to AEW at their sixth anniversary show. However, that was when information about the non-compete came out, preventing Andrade from continuing his assocation with AEW at least through the next year.
Despite this, Andrade was allowed to work in Puerto Rico recently, becoming the new WWC Universal Champion. He claimed that WWE sent him a letter just hours prior to the event granting him approval only to work the one specific show.
