By The Numbers: How Much Wrestling Did You Watch This Weekend?

  • Jeff Moss
AEW WWE TNA NXT PLEs

This past weekend (June 27 & 28, 2026) was a wrestling fan’s dream (and, possibly, nightmare). Not counting Friday night’s Smackdown, there were six wrestling events, ranging from weekly shows to PLE’s and special broadcast events. Nearly one hundred and fifty wrestlers participated in 44 matches in a roughly 36 hour period (12pm June 27th to 11:59pm June 28th).

Now, I’m a big wrestling fan, have been my whole life, but that is a LOT of wrestling, even for me. How much wrestling, you ask? Well, let’s take a look and find out! The estimated numbers compiled here are from the following shows and are rounded to the nearest minute.

Broadcast vs In-Ring Time

Now we all know that wrestling shows often feature a lot of other stuff besides in-ring action, but how much of our weekend was actually spent inside the squared circle? Of the 44 total matches over 17.5 broadcast hours, a little over 10 hours (10:06:00) was spent actually wrestling,

AAA Lucha Libre1 hour217 Minutes
TNA Slammiversary4 Hours101 Hour, 52 Minutes
NXT Great American Bash3 Hours71 Hour, 29 Minutes
AEW Forbidden Door4.5 Hours124 Hours

As expected, Forbidden Door gave fans the best Broadcast to In-Ring ratio with nearly the whole show dedicated to matches, including two (Team Briscoe vs. Team DCMJF and Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland) that went over 30 minutes.

How Many Titles Were On The Line

Over the course of the weekend, 23 Championships were on the line. Champions retained 17 of those titles, while 6 Championships changed hands, 4 World Championships and 2 sets of Tag Team titles.

The biggest story of the weekend was obviously Sami Zayn’s capture of the WWE Undisputed Title at Night of Champions against Gunther and Cody Rhodes. However, Nic Nemeth captured the TNA World Title from Mike Santana, Xia Brookside won the TNA Knockouts Title from Léi Yǐng Lee and Kendal Grey unseated Lola Vice as the NXT Women’s Champion.

Tag Team titles also changed hands with the Hardy’s grabbing the TNA World Tag Team Titles and the newly-named DEMONxBUNNY (Rosemary & Allie) took the TNA Knockouts Tag Titles from the Elegance Brand.

Also as part of the collection of titles defended, the CMLL Women’s World Title was defended and retained by Persephone on AEW Collison and Shota Umino retained the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title against Pac on Forbidden Door.

Other Numbers of Note

In a roughly 36 hour period (12pm June 27th to 11:59pm June 28th) and over six shows, 118 wrestlers participated in 44 matches. That number includes Lola Vice who wrestled twice, defending her NXT Women’s Title against La Hiedra in AAA, then losing the same title to Kendal Gray at the Great American Bash.

Speaking of the Great American Bash, both it and AAA featured only one-on-one singles matches throughout the show. The most wrestlers in a match was the 12-man Team Briscoe vs. Team DCMJF at Forbidden Door. Across the shows, there were 5 Triple Threat matches, 6 tag team bouts and the Ultimate X Match at Slammiversary with 7 participants.

The longest match of the weekend was Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland at Forbidden Door, which lasted almost 36 minutes. The shortest match of the weekend was on AEW Collision when  Místico & “Speedball” Mike Bailey defeated The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) in just 4 minutes and 17 seconds.
