Actor Jeremy Allen White to play Kerry Von Erich in ‘The Iron Claw’

“The Iron Claw,” the upcoming biopic on the Von Erich family, has cast its Kerry Von Erich.

It was announced via Deadline today that actor Jeremy Allen White will play Kerry Von Erich in “The Iron Claw.” White will co-star in the film alongside Zac Efron (Kevin Von Erich) and Harris Dickinson (David Von Erich).

White stars in the FX series “The Bear” and was previously part of the cast for Showtime’s “Shameless.”

“The Iron Claw” is being written and directed by Sean Durkin, who also wrote and directed the critically acclaimed film “Martha Marcy May Marlene” in 2011. A24 and Access Industries are co-financing “The Iron Claw,” and A24 is producing the movie.

“Based on the true story of the Von Erichs, [The Iron Claw] follows the rise and fall of the family dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day,” Deadline wrote.

The Von Erich family tragedy has previously been chronicled on Vice TV’s “Dark Side of the Ring” in 2019 and an edition of ESPN’s “30 for 30 Shorts” in 2015.
