The Boogie Woogie Man is set for one last match.

A press release (via PWInsider) announced that Jimmy Valiant, 83, will have his final match on a show titled ‘Boogie’s Last Dance’ for NAWA Championship Wrestling in Lancaster, South Carolina. Tickets for the show can be found here.

“Yes, this will be my final dance,” Valiant said in the press release. “I’ve retired before but this is truly my last dance. I’m honored to hang up my boots after 62 years of wrestling pro. I had over 15,000 matches and drove 6 million miles on U.S. highways, plus flying getting to those matches.”

Valiant’s last match was back in 2023 for NAWA, when he took in a six-man tag team match.

“I want to dance down that aisle to my theme song, “Boy From New York City” one last time to make wrestling in 7 decades from 1964 to 2026 a reality for me,” Valiant added.

Early in his career, Valiant formed a brother tag team with Johnny Valiant and achieved success in the WWWF. As a singles wrestler, he is best known for his run in Jim Crockett Promotions as a babyface in the 1980s feuding with the likes of Paul Jones and The Assassins. He and Johnny were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.
