Maria Kanellis-Bennett reveals skin cancer diagnosis, undergoes surgery

Maria Kanellis-Bennett recently revealed she has been diagnosed with skin cancer.
She posted to social media on Friday that she had surgery to remove a “type 0” skin cancer, writing that a previous biopsy had come back cancerous.
“PSA: get your moles checked!!! I had type 0 skin cancer removed today after a previous biopsy came back cancerous. Feeling very blessed they caught it so early but definitely exhausted. I will have a beautiful 3 inch scar on my leg. It’s been an interesting few years. They marked it with an eye before surgery to apparently to keep away bad spirits.”
Kanellis-Bennett may have meant “stage 0,” a medical term used to describe the earliest form of cancer, rather than “type 0.”
The 43-year-old has dealt with multiple health issues in recent years. In 2024, Kanellis-Bennett had a non-cancerous tumor removed from her adrenal gland. She also had surgery to remove part of her thyroid in 2023.
On January 31, she announced that her AEW contract had expired, writing, “This is my last day with AEW. Mike still works there. We have kids.”
Kanellis-Bennett is currently pregnant with her and husband Mike Bennett’s third child. They announced the news in June. Their daughter Freddie was born in 2018, and their son Carver in 2020.
