November 28, 2005 Observer Newsletter: WWE introduces new drug testing policy, UFC 57 recap

Wrestling, as we know it, has changed.

A TRANSCRIPT OF THE SHORT MEETING VINCE MCMAHON HAD WITH THE WWE WRESTLERS BEFORE THE 11/21 TV TAPINGS IN SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND

McMahon: The reason for the meeting is there is no good time for anything is my philosophy, so just go do it. But before anything started leaking out and you started hearing rumors and things of that nature, I wanted you to hear it straight from me.

First, we’re instituting a new drug policy, and we’re doing it over the next several weeks. I’d be happy to hear any suggestions that any of you guys may have in terms of that. We’ll be testing for drugs of abuse, and abuse of prescription drugs. Even though you have a prescription, if you’re abusing that prescription, action will be taken. Performance enhancing drugs as well, steroids, etc., so it will be a very strict policy, one, that quite frankly, I, nor the office, will have anything to do with.
