Rockstar Spud addresses concerning EC3 video: ‘I love my friend. I believe he is good’
After fans were concerned about the condition EC3 appeared to be in at a recent wrestling show, Rockstar Spud reached out to make sure everything is okay.
EC3 competed over the weekend for Canadian indie promotion All Star Wrestling, which shared video of him making his entrance. EC3 was noticeably limping in the video, and commenters online pointed out that he looked to be bloated and in pain. Spud saw the video and contacted EC3 about it. EC3 told him that, while his leg actually is hurt, he was selling an injury as part of the story for the match. There were also the compounding effects of a long travel day and his digestive system being “off schedule.”
Rockstar Spud’s statement —
- I spoke to Michael (EC3) this morning.
- Long travel day, multiple flights, heavy training upon landing, messed up leg and (I quote) ‘Add in disrupted sleep, meal timing, hydration and hours of travel, and my digestive system was completely off schedule. My GI tract could not produce my usual sh*t myself lean before hand.’
- The video circulating is taken from match two of a one night story, where he is selling the effects of a leg from earlier (which is already really hurt but working as mentioned he through injury).
- Please consider the real human being behind what you post but I appreciate everyone’s concern as I myself was concerned enough to ask.
- I love my friend. I believe he is good.
In his own series of social media posts, EC3 echoed the same and promoted his Exodus Pro Wrestling promotion that is based out of Cleveland.
Spud (James Curtin) and EC3 (Michael Hutter) worked on-screen together in TNA before later going on to have their own runs in WWE. Spud is now a writer/producer for WWE after previously competing for the company under the name Drake Maverick.
Earlier this year, EC3 made a brief return to TNA, but that has not resulted in him doing more with the company so far.
