Saraya gives update on potential in-ring return

After taking some time away from wrestling, Saraya is starting to get the urge to return to the ring.

Saraya has not had any matches in 2025. She mutually parted ways with AEW this March and has been focusing on other projects, including releasing a memoir and starting her own podcast. But a return to wrestling could be in the cards for 2026, with Saraya telling the Toronto Sun that she plans to start training again in January.

“I’ve had a wonderful year to kind of, you know, dip my toe into the outside of wrestling world. And it’s been so wonderful, and I have loved it, and I have enjoyed it. But, you know, once you’re a wrestler, you always miss it,” Saraya said. “I am starting to get the bug for it again. Because I went through a stage where I kind of, like, fell out of love with it for a second. And I’m just like, ‘I need to take a break from it.’ And that was the whole goal, you know?

“But I’ve just found, like, this new love for it again. And I’ve found this new passion for it again. I’m going to get into training in January, and we’ll see where that takes me. Because I feel like I do — if I was to ever come back, not saying I am, but if I was to ever come back, I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than I was wrestling back when I was in NXT. So that’s my goal.”

Saraya noted that she’s talked with her friend Natalya about potentially training at the Dungeon. Saraya would absolutely love to make that happen.

“I miss it. I love it,” Saraya said about wrestling. “I think the percentage of me going back is a lot higher now, you know? But we’ll see where it goes. We’ll see where it goes. Who knows what will happen?”

Saraya — the former Paige — said she appreciates when fans show her love and want to see her come back and face some of her former WWE colleagues like AJ Lee. But Saraya does not like to talk about the possibility in interviews because some fans on social media take it the wrong way and think she’s begging for a job.

Outside of wrestling, Saraya loves hosting her “Rulebreakers” podcast. She also mentioned during the Toronto Sun interview that she could end up releasing another book down the line because she still has so much life left to live.
