The worst ever Sting match? WCW Clash of the Champions XXXI | WON Flashback
Sunday Aug 6 1995 was the night of WCW Clash of the Champions XXXI, with one of the matches on the card being Sting and Road Warrior Hawk vs Stud Stable (Meng and Kurasawa). As you can probably tell from the headline, this was not a well received affair, with our own Dave Meltzer giving it Minus 2 stars.

Sting and Road Warrior Hawk vs Stud Stable
Here is Dave’s review of Sting and Road Warrior Hawk vs Stud Stable from WCW Clash of the Champions XXXI:
“Sting (Steve Borden) & Hawk (Mike Hegstrand) beat Meng (Uliuli Fifita) & Kurosawa (Manabu Nakanishi) in 7:23. Figures they would take a guy with the legit wrestling credentials as Nakanishi who clearly has no martial arts experience at all, and have him do a martial arts gimmick badly simply because that’s the role all Japanese are supposed to play.
“I don’t know what planet Hawk was on, but this was the worst I’ve ever seen of him. Kurosawa looked totally lost. Finish saw Hawk, nearly falling off the ropes, hitting Kurosawa with a clothesline for the pin. After the match Kurosawa put Hawk in the armbar with the gimmick that Hawk suffered a broken arm. Hawk sold the injury more than he’s ever sold anything in his career. Situation was somewhat hilarious with Nick Patrick signalling for the trainer to come in before they had even done the armbar. One of the worst matches of the year. -**”
