Tom Lawlor returning to MLW, set for World title match

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor is making his MLW return this weekend.

At MLW Slaughterhouse this Saturday night, Davey Boy Smith Jr. was supposed to challenge Alex Kane for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. But MLW announced today that Smith “has withdrawn from the bout and has been placed on the emergency injured reserved list.” Lawlor will be replacing Smith in the title match.

This will be the first time Lawlor has wrestled for MLW in two years. He’s a former MLW World Heavyweight Champion, holding the title for five months in 2019.

Kane won the MLW World Heavyweight Championship from Alex Hammerstone this July.

Slaughterhouse is taking place from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia this Saturday and will air live on Fite+. Here’s the updated card for the show:
