VIDEO: Kenny Omega countdown clock begins on Being the Elite
Another cliffhanger hinting at Kenny Omega’s future closed this week’s episode of Being the Elite.
While Omega doesn’t make an appearance on the episode, Matt Jackson is shown talking to someone on the phone. In an apparent reference to the Royal Rumble, Jackson says “Dude, I can’t believe people actually thought you were going to be there. Unbelievable.” Jackson mentions that the person he’s talking to has found their phone, that they’re all set, and that they’ll see each other soon.
Omega’s phone is then shown ticking with a countdown clock on it. It’s counting down to nine days, 19 hours, and five minutes. That ends on February 7, which is the same day that All Elite Wrestling is holding their Double or Nothing ticket announcement party at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
In a storyline on an episode of Being the Elite earlier this month, Omega lost his phone and it started ticking. Similar countdown clocks were used on Being the Elite leading into the announcement of AEW.
Omega’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling is up at the end of this month.
