The wXw European champion has been pulled from an upcoming show due to what the promotion described as a “major career opportunity.”

21-year-old Dutch wrestler Ricky Sosa had been scheduled to compete in Sunday’s 16 Carat tournament in Oberhausen. However, on Friday morning, the promotion announced that while Sosa will still be in attendance, he will not be performing on the show.

The promotion added that the opportunity came up on short notice.

wXw wrote (translated):

“wXw European Champion @rickysosa508 is unfortunately unavailable for the 16 Carat Gold Tournament due to a major career opportunity that has come up at short notice. We wish him the best of luck. However, Ricky will be in Oberhausen on Sunday at the 16 Carat Tournament.”

Sosa has never wrestled in the United States but has said in interviews that working with WWE is a career goal.

Mark Henry posted a photo of him and Sosa together last month, writing, “I don’t know if you guys know Ricky Sosa, but he is going to be an unbelievable talent in the future. He’s young athletic and he’s got that extra thing that you need for pro wrestling.”
