Released WWE star details initial Wyatt Sicks plans with Bray Wyatt
Joe Gacy revealed that Bray Wyatt wanted to work with him on NXT before he joined Wyatt Sicks. The former WWE star detailed backstage conversations on the faction’s initial development and direction.
In his interview with The FiveMarks, Gacy discussed initial rumblings about his involvement in the group that was supposed to be led by Wyatt before his unfortunate passing. Gacy also addressed the teasers he shared hinting at a connection with the group before it was materialized.
“I know there was always an idea for the Wyatt Sicks group, because I had heard rumblings about it before I was ever even approached about it and then unfortunately I think the idea was that obviously Bray was going to be the leader at the time and then unfortunately he passed away and it was like a crazy moment where, there’s a guy named Rob Fee who works in the character development. It was shortly after he passed away he reached out to me and basically told me ‘Hey, Windham thought a lot of you. He really wanted to come down to NXT and work with you.’ And this was the first time I was hearing any of this, and it blew me away cause I had no idea at the time he wanted to work with me at all.”
“And selfishly I wish we got to do, even like a promo on NXT. Just to have a back-and-forth, something. It would have been an honor. It led to conversations between me and Rob and he basically told me ‘Hey, there’s an idea, so don’t get worried if you don’t do NXT TV as much.’ I guess he was trying to prep me in case NXT stopped using me, cause if you get pulled off TV a little bit there’s always that fear of ‘Oh no, am I going to get fired?’”
“So he had the prep, he prepped me a little bit and basically told me there’s this idea, there’s this group idea.”
Wyatt Sicks officially made their WWE debut as a group in 2024 with Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas) as the leader. Their characters were a representation of personas created by Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse era.
In April this year all members of Wyatt Sicks were released by WWE.
