Report: WWE’s original scrapped plans for LA Knight

WWE Unreal prompted LA Knight to make big backstage change

WWE’s plans for LA Knight post WrestleMania 42 reportedly disclosed.

According to Bodyslam.net, Knight was reportedly set to have a short program with Gunther before the plans were altered for him to target Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship. There is no status on WWE’s current creative direction for Knight.

Knight’s last televised appearance was at WrestleMania Night One where he teamed up with The Usos against The Vision and IShowSpeed. Prior to the Premium Live Event, Knight was suspected to have suffered an injury which he later addressed as it sparked concern among fans. Knight was adamant that the bursa flare up would not disrupt his WrestleMania match.

After battling Seth Rollins at the event, Gunther’s next move was to target the WWE Championship. On the May 1 edition of SmackDown, he attacked Cody Rhodes after his match against Ricky Saints. He put him in his signature sleeper hold before releasing him and picking up the WWE Title.
