Cody vs. Kenny Omega official for ROH Supercard of Honor XII

The first singles match between Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega is now official for Ring of Honor’s April 7th Supercard of Honor XII show at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.

The match was announced for Supercard of Honor at the end of the new episode of Being the Elite that was released this morning. Cody vs. Omega had previously been reported a few weeks ago on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The show will take place over WrestleMania weekend and will go head-to-head with NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. Supercard of Honor XII is widely expected to be the biggest drawing event in ROH history.

The match stems from an angle at the end of Sunday’s New Beginning in Sapporo show where Cody turned on Omega after Omega’s loss of the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship to Jay White. This led to a Bullet Club split that is in the process of a slowly-drawn out storyline.
