Deonna Purrazzo reportedly injured at ROH tapings
Breaking news out of Orlando tonight: One of the champions in Ring of Honor was reportedly injured during a match at the tapings tonight in Jacksonville.
Deonna Purrazzo, the reigning and inaugural ROH Women’s Pure Champion, was defending her title against Steph de Lander. Jacob Cohen, a fan in attendance, reported that the match was stopped due to injury.
“Deonna got hurt on a spot on the floor,” he wrote. “The match was ruled a no contest and Deonna was helped to the back. Hopefully she’s ok.”
We are awaiting further word on Purrazzo’s condition.
Purrazzo defeated Billie Starkz in a tournament final at Final Battle last December to win ROH’s first Women’s Pure Championship. Per Cagematch, she has defended the title six times since then, and also won several “Proving Ground” non-title matches. That streak includes wins over Trish Adora, Giselle Shaw, and Isla Dawn.
Tonight’s match was de Lander’s first in ROH in over three years. Her only other match in the company was a loss to Willow Nightingale in April of 2023.
