Sherilyn Guerrero recalls brotherly bond with CM Punk after Eddie Guerrero’s passing
Sherilyn Guerrero opened up about how she perceives CM Punk as an older brother who has assisted whenever needed. She also explains the Mysterio family’s impact in her life.
In an interview on the Smoothvega Podcast, Guerrero talked about her relationship with CM Punk especially after her father’s passing. And emphasized how he’s been like an older brother throughout.
“So with CM Punk, I would go with him to his Make-A-Wishes, I would follow him around the ring. He was an older brother I needed after my dad passed away, and to see him was so heartwarming. We just hugged, I think when I saw Big show, JBL, I actually saw JBL in Bay City for the first time before you know the com the conventions and there’s a warm embrace I think they kind of feel my dad when they hug me so it’s a healing for both of us, for me it’s just like as a kid and for them it’s like I think I bring a presence of my dad with them so I hope it’s as heartwarming I think it is too. But I know CM Punk was like, ‘Don’t tell me you’re wrestling.’ I said, ‘I sure am,’ and he just embraced me.”
She also talked about Rey and Dominik Mysterio’s approachability for advice.
“I really feel like it was just, it’s supposed to happen reconnecting and then seeing Rey. Luckily Dom is someone I can really go to. He gives great advice. He keeps it real and I love that. Rey will keep it real, but seeing them, it’s just a, yeah, it’s a hug. It’s a hug that I can’t forget. It’s a moment that without the cameras and anything that’s probably a core memory that I can hold on to.”
Guerrero began training at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling school around October 2025. And is hopeful for an official in-ring debut this year.
