Two people involved in the main event of Friday’s TNA special have been recognized for their quick action following an injury scare.

TNA President Carlos Silva made the announcement on Saturday ahead of the company’s television tapings. He first gave the award to referee Alice Lane, who made the call to stop the match between Steve Maclin and Mike Santana after Maclin was rocked after taking a superkick. She gave a quick speech thanking TNA for the award.

Silva then brought up Eddie Edwards’ name, saying he “stepped up in a big way” by coming out and having an impromptu brawl with Santana for a few minutes.  Eddie accepted the award, saying he was just doing his job and stressed what they do out there is a team effort.

Following Sacrifice, Bryan Alvarez reported that Steve Maclin was alert and walking around backstage following the event but it was feared he may have suffered a concussion. On Saturday morning, Silva told Sports Illustrated that Maclin was not diagnosed with a concussion and was later released to return to his hotel for the night.
