Eric Bischoff on Tommy Dreamer leading TNA creative: “any experience he has is extremely limited”

Tommy Dreamer

Eric Bischoff recently discussed the ongoing backstage issues with TNA and Tommy Dreamer leaving his role as head of creative. Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff would endorse Road Dogg to take over the creative role at Total Nonstop Action, saying that he has a lot more experience with television networks than Dreamer has:

“In a place like TNA, quite frankly, I think he’d [Road Dogg] be a huge leap forward from a Tommy Dreamer, who doesn’t really have any television experience; and what experience he has is extremely limited. He was a former wrestler. He learned enough about performing., he’s performed in WWE. He’s got enough of that background.

“But has he [Dreamer] ever sat in a room with television executives to understand their goals, their needs, the way they have to operate and then tailor your creative or your television property to those needs? Probably not. And that’s the advantage that a Road Dogg would have, he’s had a broader base of television experience at very high levels with very well established networks.”

Bischoff would also discuss Brian James’/Mr Dogg’s [ 😉 ] role in WWE, saying that from what he has read and is aware of James and Vince McMahon didn’t quite mesh creatively:

“The chemistry with him [Road Dogg] and Vince, from what I’ve read, I don’t know. I’ve never had a conversation with the Road Dogg about this. I mean, no disrespect by making any assumptions…The chemistry between he and Vince just was such that it didn’t work out.”
