New TNA X-Division Champion crowned

Cedric Alexander is the brand new TNA X-Division Champion.

In the main event of the May 14 episode of TNA Impact, fans saw Cedric Alexander defeat Leon Slater in a 2-out-of-3 falls match. Alexander pinned Slater to crown himself the new X-Division Champion.

Following a closely contested battle and a scoreline of 1-1, Alexander evaded Slater’s Swanton 450 and countered it with multiple Lumbarchecks to pick up the X-Division title.

Slater was previously set to become the longest reigning X-Division champion on May 15, 2026. However, his plans were put to a halt as Alexander beat him to take home the title.

Alexander is a member of The System in TNA. While Alexander now holds the X Division Championship, Brian Myers and Bear Bronson of The System hold the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Slater held the X-Division Title since July 2025, when he won the title from Moose at the Slammiversary PPV. Now, just one day before reaching the historic feat, Slater lost it to the former WWE wrestler.
