Steve Maclin likely suffered a concussion during TNA Sacrifice

Steve Maclin

An update on Steve Maclin following TNA Sacrifice.

The main event of TNA’s show on Friday ended abruptly after Maclin took a superkick from Mike Santana early into the match for the TNA World title. Maclin struggled to get to his feet as medical personnel and TNA President Carlos Silva tended to him at ringside. Thankfully, Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Maclin was walking around after the show, though likely injured.

“Update on Steve Maclin is that he was up and walking around after the show, but the belief is he is likely concussed,” he wrote.

Eddie Edwards eventually came to the ring and brawled with Santana as Maclin was escorted from the ring. The two had a back-and-forth that lasted several minutes that eventually ended with Santana laying out Edwards with a frog splash through a table. Santana was declared the winner “via no contest” as the show went off the air.

Despite being fired from TNA as a result of grabbing the appropriate briefcase in the Feast or Fired match, Maclin continued to appear on television, turning heel by attacking Santana and announcer Tom Hannifan. Eventually he was brought back to TNA and not only put in the main event, but was given a World title match.
