TNA announces return of Lockdown PPV
TNA Lockdown is returning this August, with every match once again set to be held inside of a steel cage.
It was announced today that Lockdown 2026 will take place from Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago on Sunday, August 23. This was one of four new pay-per-view dates recently confirmed by the company, though the name of the PPV was not disclosed when that initial announcement was made.
Lockdown first took place in 2005 and existed as an annual event through 2016. For this revival, it will keep its original theme with every bout being a steel cage match. The Hardys, Nic Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, Moose, AJ Francis, Mike Santana, Steve Maclin, Brian Myers, Eric Young, Leon Slater, Ash By Elegance, Tessa Blanchard, Elayna Black, and Indi Hartwell are the first names advertised.
Tickets for the show are going on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Friday, April 24. A ticket pre-sale will begin at that same time on Wednesday, April 22.
“The 2026 Lockdown is TNA’s first live event held at the venue formerly known as the UIC Pavilion, an on-campus arena steeped in pro wrestling history,” TNA wrote in a press release. “Chi-Town Rumble from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1989, for instance, was held at the UIC Pavilion, featuring Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat against Ric Flair for the NWA World Championship in the main event.”
