TNA vs. NXT steel cage match set for next week’s Impact

The TNA vs. NXT rivalry continues next week in a steel cage match.

TNA announced on Tuesday that stars representing the promotion will square off against NXT wrestlers in a steel cage on the December 18 edition of Impact. TNA’s team will comprise of Steve Maclin, Matt Cardona, The Hardy Boyz, and Mike Santana while Team NXT will have Stacks, Tyson & Tyriek, Lexis King, and Brooks Jensen.

The two promotions have continued to feud since last month, then the same group of NXT stars attacked Santana on a live episode of Impact. That allowed Frankie Kazarian to cash in his Call Your Shot trophy and defeated Mike Santana for the TNA World title. Santana has vowed retribution ever since, saying he would take out those who cost him the title.

At Final Resolution, Kazarian retained the title over JDC but the end of the show resulted in chaos once again as the NXT contingent came out and attacked everyone involved. King was set to torch the TNA logo on the ring mat when TNA stars came out for the save. In the scuffle, Stacks laid out his future father-in-law Santino Marella.
