Trick Williams recalls breaking brother’s collarbone in childhood wrestling accident

Trick Williams reflected on a scary incident from his childhood when he imitated wrestling moves on his younger brother, Hassan, and ended up breaking his collarbone.

Speaking with Stephanie McMahon on the What’s Your Story? Podcast, Williams talked about wrestling with his brothers growing up. A particular instance that stood out was when he performed a bodyslam off the bed at home resulted in Hassan’s injury. Williams was 10-years-old when it happened, and informed his elder brother, Andre, who was around 13-years-old, as his parents were not home at the time.

“We were competing, we were wrestling, and I broke my brother Hassan’s collarbone in a Royal Rumble, you know what I mean at 10 years old. He was seven, it was the scariest day of my life. Parents wasn’t home, bodyslam off the top (of the bed), Royal Rumble style on the ground, on the floor. He landed, I didn’t see him cause I was in my victory stance but I just remember the yell, the sound. It was the sound that I’d never heard anybody make before. And he was like he moved, he stopped, I thought he was paralyzed. The viewer’s discretion ‘don’t try these moves at home’ must be taken seriously. Cause I’m a living example but Hassan is doing great.”

Williams expressed gratitude on his main roster run, and the opportunity to be on SmackDown with Lash Legend.

“I’m enjoying every single day. I wake up every morning next to my fianceé Lash Legend, and we both just so grateful as far as the first three months, four months on SmackDown. I couldn’t picture it going much better than it’s going right now. So, so, so grateful.”

Williams officially moved to SmackDown in January after four years on NXT. He also made his WrestleMania debut and defeated Sami Zayn for the United States Championship.
