Israel Adesanya pays tribute to Oba Femi during UFC Fight Night event

Israel Adesanya

During the main event of UFC Fight Night: Seattle, Israel Adesanya paid a surprising tribute to former WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi.

Ahead of his match against Joe Pyfer, fans saw Adesanya enter the octagon while performing Femi’s WWE entrance strut. However, despite channeling his inner Femi, Adesanya left the octagon a defeated man.

Pyfer defeated Adesanya in the second round, after getting him on his back and dropping him with rapid punches. Shortly after, the referee was forced to stop the fight and declare Pyfer as the winner.

Tonight’s match was Adesanya’s first fight since February 2025, when he lost to Nassourdine Imavov by TKO. The Kiwi has now lost four straight fights.

Adesanya’s tribute to Femi became a talking point tonight after his previous positive comments on the 27-year-old.
