Nate Diaz vs. Anthony Pettis set for UFC 241

Nate Diaz is set to fight for the first time in nearly three years.

Dana White made the announcement on Twitter that Diaz will face Anthony Pettis at UFC 241. The fight will be at 170 pounds.

This will be Diaz’s first MMA fight since August 20, 2016 when he lost to Conor McGregor by majority decision at UFC 202. Pettis last fought back in March, defeating Stephen Thompson by KO.

There were attempts last year to make a match between Diaz and Dustin Poirier in a lightweight bout for UFC 230. However, Poirier pulled out of the event due to an injury and the fight ended up being cancelled.

Diaz and Pettis will co-main UFC 241, as Daniel Cormier will be in the main event defending the UFC Heavyweight championship against the person he beat for it, Stipe Miocic. A match between Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa has also been signed.

UFC 241 takes place on August 17 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
