UFC 329 main event backup fighter confirmed for Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway

The backup fighter for the UFC 329 main event between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway has now been confirmed. The Irish star and ‘Blessed’ will be competing in the main event on Saturday, July 11th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, but Mauricio Ruffy will be the backup in case one of the two fighters is unable to compete.

Ruffy is coming off of a dominant win against Michael Chandler from the UFC White House card, where he beat the former Bellator star in the first round.

Speaking in a video posted to his Instagram, he confirmed that: “I made myself available for the Conor McGregor fight and Max Holloway. I’m going on a trip to Las Vegas. I took good care of myself. These guys made me train halfway through my vacation.”
