WWE files for two new trademarks

WWE has filed for two new trademarks this week.

The company applied for the trademarks ‘Shido Ash’ and ‘The Mog Squad’. There is no confirmation or indication regarding who these names are intended for within WWE. However, their recent trademark activity has largely revolved around NXT, Evolve or WWE ID prospects.  

The application for the trademark listed under the Goods and Services category with serial number 99756416 is for ‘performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer’ 

  • Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

Last month WWE filed a number of trademarks including one for EK Prosper, a new in-ring name for Eli Knight. A potential program for NXT was also trademarked under the name ‘Revenge’. However, it still remains uncertain on whether it is a special weekly program or a new Premium Live Event. 

WWE is gearing up for WrestleMania 42 this weekend at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton main event Night One for the Undisputed WWE Championship while Roman Reigns and CM Punk headline Night Two for the World Heavyweight Championship.
