Air conditioning issues at WWE Raw caused comfort issues for fans
Many fans in attendance at this past Monday’s WWE Raw at the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas, complained about the excessive heat in the arena due to issues with air conditioning.
KGNS News reported that District 5 council member Ruben Gutierrez, a representative from the area, revealed that the arena lost power around 2 pm local time prior to the event. It was restored a few hours later but with preparations during the course of the day, cool air leaked out, leaving fans stuck in a stuffy arena.
The inability for the air conditioning to catch up, in addition to the pyrotechnics in the arena, made it an uncomfortable experience for the nearly 8,000 fans in attendance.
“By 4 p.m., of course, WWE is setting up stuff there, fire going on inside there, fireworks going on to make sure stuff is working, heating up the place. Once the doors opened up at 5:30, the doors are open again, letting over 8,000 people in there. The AC is just going out, going out, going out, and the AC just could not recoup fast enough with 8,000 people in there, pyrotechnics going on inside the arena,” stated Gutierrez.
The Laredo Fire Department confirmed they received no calls from the arena and reported no illnesses or injuries related to the heat.
