WWE SummerSlam ticket sales reportedly lower than expected for arena capacity
WWE SummerSlam will take place nearly three weeks away on August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis.
According to WrestleTix, WWE has sold SummerSlam tickets within the 25K mark for both days with 22,069 tickets for August 1 and 23,809 for August 2. The U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota has a capacity of 66,200 which can be extended to 72,000 if required.
Four matches have been confirmed for the Premium Live Event so far. Liv Morgan will defend the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY. The giants Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar will collide in a Hell in a Cell match, marking the trilogy of their rivalry. Penta puts his Intercontinental Title on the line in a gauntlet match, and Roman Reigns goes up against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title.
With almost three weeks to the event, WWE is due to add more high stakes matches and appearances which could further elevate ticket sales.
