AAA announces Mega title No. 1 contender match for FOX debut
A new challenger for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Championship will be determined this weekend.
AAA has announced that El Grande Americano will wrestle El Hijo del Vikingo on Saturday’s show in Mexico City, with the winner earning the right to challenge Dominik for the title.

Saturday’s show will mark the start of AAA’s new broadcast deal with FOX. In Mexico and Central America, the event will stream live on Fox Tubi and Fox One at 8 p.m. local time, with a delayed airing on FOX from 9 to 10 p.m. In South America, the show will stream live on FOX’s YouTube channel. In the rest of the world, the event will air live on YouTube and Facebook via the WWE, WWE Español, and AAA channels at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET. The event will take place at the Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City.
Vikingo vs. Americano is the first match announced for the show.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the event earlier this week on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer said:
“The show is sold out and we know zero matches. The station hasn’t promoted it. It’s on from 9 to 10, so they are not showing the whole card. There’s no indication if these shows are going to be weekly. It looks like they will not be weekly. So this new TV deal, it feels right now it’s not nearly what it was cracked up to be. But they are sold out.”
