AEW/ROH wrestler coached Nikki Bella for WWE return
As she prepared to make her WWE return, Nikki Bella had some help from a member of the AEW/ROH roster.
Bella returned on SmackDown last Friday after spending nearly four months out of action due to an ankle injury. She discussed her comeback on the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show and shared that Aaron Solo — who is based in San Francisco and mostly competes for Ring of Honor — has been coaching her in the ring.
“Brie has her coach, who’s Bryan [Danielson]. So my coach has been Aaron Solo, and Aaron is amazing,” Nikki said. “So when Brie was coming back, Aaron worked a lot with Bryan and Brie. Because he’s over in San Francisco, he’s been coming and coaching me and training me.”
Solo has been with AEW since 2020 and was in action on a recent episode of Dynamite, teaming with Nick Comoroto in a loss to Bandido & Brody King on July 15.
Nikki Bella at WWE SummerSlam —
Bella’s return set up that she will team up with her twin sister Brie & Paige in a six-woman tag match against Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) at SummerSlam. That match will take place this Saturday at night one of the event. Henley & Reid are the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after defeating Brie & Paige for the belts.
Before SummerSlam, Nikki Bella intends to get in some more practice.
“This was my fourth practice with Aaron,” she said. “And I’m going to make sure, we’re going to get two more big practices in before SummerSlam.”
