AJ Lee posts first message since WWE return

AJ Lee is dedicating her WWE return to her loyalest of fans.
After returning last Friday on SmackDown, Lee sent out a message on social media today, showing appreciation to her fans for how they stuck with her during her 10-year absence from the ring. The post was sent out in advance of Lee appearing on tonight’s WWE Raw episode in Milwaukee.
“You’ve had my back for a decade,” Lee wrote. “This run is for you, my wonderful weirdos.”
In her return, Lee confronted Becky Lynch and got some payback for how Lynch has been taunting CM Punk. It’s expected that this is leading to a mixed tag team match between married couples Lee & Punk and Lynch & Seth Rollins at WWE’s Wrestlepalooza PLE on Saturday, September 20.
Wrestlepalooza will be Lee’s first match since retiring in 2015. She was a three-time Divas Champion during her first run and was prominently featured as a character throughout WWE storylines.
The 38-year-old Lee has officially signed a new contract with WWE in her return.
Outside of wrestling, Lee has been focused on working as a writer as well as being a mental health advocate.
The Wrestlepalooza mixed tag match could become official with Lee’s appearance on Raw tonight. With Lynch holding the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, we’ll see if this feud also leads to a title match between her and Lee down the line.
