AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose set for WWE TLC

Though much of the focus of this week’s SmackDown was on Survivor Series, that didn’t stop them from building to their next brand-exclusive pay-per-view.

It was announced by Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan on last night’s Talking Smack that Dean Ambrose would challenge AJ Styles in a tables, ladders, and chairs match for the WWE World Championship at December’s TLC PPV. Ambrose earned the right to challenge for the title when he defeated Styles on SmackDown with help from an inadvertent assist from James Ellsworth. That match was billed as Ambrose’s last opportunity to become the number one contender for the championship.

Styles and Ambrose will also be part of SmackDown’s men’s division team at Survivor Series. They will be joined by Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, and Baron Corbin in the traditional elimination tag team match against Raw. The Raw team has one spot remaining after announcing Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman for the team on Monday night.

TLC is scheduled for December 4th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Styles vs. Ambrose is the first match set for the show.
