Bayley vs. Sasha Banks announced for WWE Raw tonight
As Bayley returns to her hometown for Raw tonight, she’s also set to once again face off with Sasha Banks.
Kurt Angle made the announcement on Twitter today: “‘Friendly competition’ is good.. So I’m making it official for tonight on #Raw- San Jose’s own @itsBayleyWWE will take on @SashaBanksWWE!”
While Bayley and Banks remain aligned in storyline, WWE has been teasing issues between them over the last few weeks. Banks eliminated Bayley in the Royal Rumble, then they were involved in a backstage segment last Monday where Banks was dismissive of Bayley being good enough to beat Asuka. Bayley replied that she knows she’s good enough to defeat Banks.
Bayley, Banks, Mickie James, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville will be challenging for Alexa Bliss’ Raw Women’s Championship in the women’s Elimination Chamber match in Las Vegas on February 25th.
Payback 2017 was the last time Bayley wrestled in San Jose. She dropped the Raw Women’s title to Bliss at that pay-per-view.
Tonight’s Raw will also feature Finn Balor vs. Apollo Crews vs. Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt for the final spot in the men’s Elimination Chamber.
