Bianca Belair to defend WWE Raw Women's title against Sonya Deville

Deville announced herself as Belair's first title challenger on Raw.

Bianca Belair's first challenger for the Raw Women's Championship is set.

On-screen authority figure Sonya Deville announced herself as Belair's first challenger on this week's WWE Raw episode.

In her role as WWE official, Deville presented Belair with an open contract to sign before Belair's opponent was revealed. Deville touted the depth of the women's division, mentioning Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Doudrop, and Dana Brooke as potential opponents.

Belair then signed the contract. Deville made a show of announcing the opponent, calling them a generational superstar who broke down social norms. Deville then attacked Belair from behind with a chop block, announced herself as the challenger, then signed the contract herself.

In a backstage segment later in the show, on-screen official Adam Pearce chastised Deville for abusing her power in naming herself Belair's opponent.

Belair won the Raw Women's title at WrestleMania 38, defeating Becky Lynch to capture the Raw Championship for the first time.
