Bobby Roode makes his WWE SmackDown debut

When Bobby Roode lost his NXT Championship last Saturday, the only question was how soon it would take for him to arrive on the main roster.

It turns out that we didn’t have to wait very long. Roode made his debut on SmackDown tonight by defeating Aiden English, with Roode hitting his Glorious DDT to finish the match.

Roode cut a promo after and thanked Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon for breaking the bank to sign the hottest free agent available. He said that SmackDown was great, but now it will be “absolutely glorious” with his addition.

Drew McIntyre won the NXT title from Roode in the main event of TakeOver: Brooklyn III last Saturday before being attacked by Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish.

The next round of NXT television tapings will take place on Thursday night. Roderick Strong is owed a match against Roode, which could take place there. The tapings should also give some indication on if any other call-ups are imminent.
