Braun Strowman set for first WWE Raw match in more than a year

On Raw next week, Braun Strowman will compete in his first televised WWE match in more than a year.

WWE has announced that Strowman vs. JD McDonagh will take place on Raw next Monday (May 27). After undergoing neck fusion surgery in June 2023, Strowman made his return to WWE TV three weeks ago and was selected by Raw in the WWE Draft.

Strowman has been feuding with The Judgment Day since his return. He got involved when Judgment Day’s McDonagh & Finn Balor challenged Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth) for the World Tag Team titles on Raw last night. After Carlito interfered for Judgment Day, Strowman helped Awesome Truth retain their titles. R-Truth pinned McDonagh after McDonagh ran away from Strowman.

Later in the show, there was a segment where Damian Priest told McDonagh to go to general manager Adam Pearce and ask for a match against Strowman next week. The match was confirmed with Strowman accepting McDonagh’s challenge on Raw Talk.

Strowman made his in-ring return in a dark match at a SmackDown event earlier this month, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura.

EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia is the venue for next Monday’s Raw. It’s taking place on Memorial Day and will feature Raw’s fallout from WWE King & Queen of the Ring.
