Bridgeport, Connecticut to host NXT TakeOver XXV

Bridgeport, Connecticut will officially be the host of NXT’s next TakeOver special.

Triple H announced today that NXT TakeOver XXV will take place at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport on Saturday, June 1. The branding of the event is focused on it being NXT’s 25th TakeOver show.

TakeOver was announced for June 1 last week, but WWE didn’t confirm the location for it until today. Dave Meltzer reported that it was expected to be held at the Webster Bank Arena.

San Jose, California was originally supposed to host the TakeOver special on June 8, but WWE’s next Saudi Arabia show being moved from May to June caused changes to their schedule. Backlash, which had been set for June 16 in San Diego, was canceled and replaced with a pay-per-view called Stomping Grounds that will take place in Tacoma, Washington on June 23.

Tickets to TakeOver XXV will go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern time this Friday (May 10). NXT built to the special at their television tapings last Wednesday.
