Brock Lesnar cashes in MITB briefcase at WWE Extreme Rules

Brock Lesnar is once again the WWE Universal Champion.

Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view ended with Lesnar cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the Universal title from Seth Rollins. Rollins & Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch had just defeated Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans in an extreme rules match in the main event of the PPV.

Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out with the briefcase after the main event. Rollins charged at Lesnar, but Lesnar hit two German suplexes. Heyman had the referee start the match, and Lesnar then hit an F5 to win the title.

Earlier on the PPV, Heyman cut a promo and reiterated that Lesnar winning the Universal Championship or WWE Championship tonight was a spoiler. Heyman then teased whether or not he was lying about Lesnar cashing in.

Rollins & Lynch had retained their titles when Rollins pinned Corbin in the Extreme Rules main event. After Corbin gave Lynch the End of Days, Rollins repeatedly hit Corbin with a kendo stick, a steel chair, and hit three curb stomps.

This is Lesnar’s third reign with the Universal title.
