Brock Lesnar grateful to be back in WWE ‘for a short time’
While appearing on Barstool Sports’ Spittin Chiclets podcast, Brock Lesnar made a comment that is sure to fuel speculation about him retiring from WWE.
It’s rumored that Lesnar will be retiring from the ring in 2026, with SummerSlam in Minneapolis a possible destination for his final match. Lesnar spoke to Spittin Chiclets about his WWE run and made reference to the fact that he’s back in the company for a “short time.”
“I was a shooter, an amateur guy. I had a lot of credentials to my name. Of course I got tested along the way by the old-timers and the guys. You have to pay your dues. Back then, you paid your dues and you had to get your respect,” Lesnar said while reflecting on how WWE has changed over the years.
“It’s different now, obviously. Things have gotten a lot softer. There’s no more kangaroo courts. It’s different now. But I mean, I go there, I’m the old guy now.”
He emphasized the purpose of his WWE return was to feed his family and is grateful for his ongoing stint with the company.
“Sh*t, I went back to work so I could feed my kids. You guys should see my grocery bill. I had left the company years ago, and I’m grateful that I’m back for a short time here,” Lesnar said. “So I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had in my life.”
Lesnar returned at SummerSlam 2025 for the first time since his name was mentioned in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. He defeated John Cena on Cena’s retirement tour and is currently engaged in a program with Oba Femi, which escalated on Raw last night ahead of their encounter next month at WrestleMania 42.
