The WWE Champion will be part of this year's men's Royal Rumble match.
During the opening segment of tonight's Raw, it was announced that Brock Lesnar will be in the men's Royal Rumble and will be entering the match first overall. He's the second wrestler to be officially confirmed for the match. Roman Reigns being in the Rumble was also announced on SmackDown this past Friday.
Lesnar returned to WWE television for the first time since Survivor Series on tonight's Raw. Paul Heyman cut a promo saying that they were going to start off the new year by making history. Heyman said that Lesnar told him there's no one on Raw, SmackDown, or NXT that is man enough or worthy enough to challenge for his title at the Royal Rumble.
After announcing that Lesnar would be the first overall entrant, Heyman said that Lesnar would be standing victorious at the end of the match. Heyman said Lesnar winning the Royal Rumble isn't just a prediction -- it's a spoiler.
The stipulation for the Royal Rumble matches over the past couple of years has been that the winners can choose which brand's title they're challenging for at WrestleMania.
The Royal Rumble is taking place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on January 26. Here's what's been announced for the pay-per-view thus far:
- Men's Royal Rumble match (Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns confirmed)
- Women's Royal Rumble match (Charlotte Flair confirmed)
- Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch defending against Asuka
- Universal Champion "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt defending against Daniel Bryan
