Brock Lesnar wins WWE title, set for champion vs. champion match at WrestleMania 38

It will be champion vs. champion when Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns face off at WrestleMania.

At Saturday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, Brock Lesnar won an Elimination Chamber match to become the new WWE Champion. With Reigns retaining his Universal Championship against Goldberg earlier in the show, it was confirmed that Lesnar vs. Reigns at WrestleMania 38 this April will be champion vs. champion.

Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, AJ Styles, and Riddle were the other participants in the WWE title Elimination Chamber match. Lashley was champion going into the match but was taken out before he even entered the Elimination Chamber.

There was an angle during the match where Rollins powerbombed Theory into Lashley’s pod. Lashley was taken out of the match, with it being said that he was injured and had entered concussion protocols after the pod broke when Theory was powerbombed into him.

Lesnar eliminated Theory, Styles, Riddle, and Rollins with F-5s. When the match came down to him and Theory, Lesnar eliminated Theory by hitting a super F-5 from the top of one of the Chamber pods.

At last month’s Royal Rumble PPV, Lesnar lost the WWE Championship to Lashley after interference by Reigns and a betrayal by Paul Heyman. Lesnar went on to win the men’s Royal Rumble match later in the night.

WrestleMania 38 is being held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.
