Bronson Reed: ‘I’m the perfect John Cena heel’

Bronson Reed believes he’d be a perfect opponent for John Cena.

Cena is wrapping up his in-ring career with a retirement tour that will last from January through December 2025. We don’t know any of the opponents he will be facing yet, but Reed told Insight with Chris Van Vliet that he would like to share the ring with Cena.

“I’d like to work with a CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, and even John Cena,” Reed said. “I’m the perfect John Cena heel. You know, the matches he had with like Umaga and those guys, I’d be perfect against him. But whether that happens, I don’t know. That’s all just stuff I’d like to do. It’s up to WWE.”

Reed also listed Seth Rollins — who he is currently in a feud with — as someone he wants to face. Reed has his eyes on the World Heavyweight title but understands he might not be able to be in that mix right now with another heel (Gunther) holding the belt.

During his retirement tour, Cena will be working around 36 dates for WWE. The first confirmed date is Raw’s Netflix premiere episode on Monday, January 6, 2025.
