Bronson Reed: WWE Crown Jewel homecoming is ‘a huge deal for me’

Bronson Reed is ready to accomplish a big life goal this weekend.

At Crown Jewel: Perth this Saturday, Reed will compete in his home country of Australia for the first time as a member of the WWE Roster. It’s been a surreal experience returning home and seeing himself so heavily featured on advertising material for the PLE.

“That was sort of a dream of mine, to be able to come back to Australia as a WWE Superstar. It’s something that I’ve always thought about,” Reed told The West Sport. “And now it’s a little surreal seeing the big flags and stuff with me up there with the likes of John Cena.”

It will be Reed vs. Roman Reigns in an Australian Street Fight at Saturday’s PLE in Perth. The two recently faced each other at Clash in Paris with Reigns getting the victory. After the match, there was an angle where Reed and Bron Breakker attacked Reigns and took him out.

With Reigns being such a big star, Reed is interested to see what the crowd dynamic will be. He’s not fully sure whether he’ll be cheered or booed despite having the home country advantage. Either way, Reed knows this will be a different experience than the Paris match.

“I feel like, it does hit different,” he said. “You know, I’ve had a lot of big matches in my career. I’ve faced Roman Reigns once before, but it was in Paris. It’s always different doing it on your home soil. It’s a bit of a homecoming for myself. I have a lot of guys that I wrestled with on the independents that are going to be at the show. A lot of friends and family watching. And I’m facing, you know, the face of WWE, I’m facing Roman Reigns. So it’s a huge deal for me.”

Reed has been living in the United States for about seven years now and told The West Sport that he misses Australia all the time. In 2024, he had to miss WWE Elimination Chamber in Perth due to the birth of his first child.

Crown Jewel: Perth has a start time of 8 a.m. Eastern on Saturday (October 11). The PLE is airing live on the ESPN app in the United States and on Netflix elsewhere.
