Carlito officially a free agent after WWE contract expires

Carlito is officially no longer with WWE.
The 46-year-old revealed earlier this month that his contract would not be renewed. On Saturday, he posted to social media that he is now a free agent and “Back in Business.”
Two weeks ago, Carlito announced his upcoming departure from WWE, joking that he had been accused of “stealing money” from the company during the final months of his contract.
He wrote:
“My contract is up in 2 weeks. It will not be renewed. On top of that, WWE is demanding I pay back the $ they paid me for apparently “stealing money” from the company. I’ve had my lawyers look into it and after reviewing my footage on Netflix for the past months they suggested I pay them back the money.”
“All jokes aside, gracias WWE & especially the WWE universe. Los quiero mucho! PS…I’ll reappear again in another 13yrs Dios me los bendiga!”

Carlito’s second WWE run
Carlito returned to WWE at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico. Aside from appearances at the 2021 Royal Rumble and the following night’s Raw, it was his first time back with the company since being released in 2010 for refusing to attend rehab following a Wellness Policy violation.
Carlito joined the newly revived LWO but was revealed as the person behind an attack on Dragon Lee in the spring of 2024. He then joined The Judgment Day shortly after being drafted to Raw and remained with the group until his departure.
Carlito has already returned to the ring for his family’s promotion, WWC, in Puerto Rico. He defeated Ray González at WWC Summer Spectacular 2025 on May 31 to win the Puerto Rico Championship.
