Chad Gable ready to prove himself as singles wrestler in WWE

Chad Gable is ready to prove himself as a singles wrestler in WWE.

On Raw last night, Gable defeated Tommaso Ciampa, Ricochet, and Matt Riddle in a fatal four-way match to become the number one contender to the Intercontinental title. Gable will be challenging Gunther for the championship in the future.

Gable outlasted Gunther in a five-minute challenge on Raw last week. Despite Gable surviving the time limit, Gunther demanded that the match be restarted. Gunther won the match with a powerbomb.

During a SummerSlam week interview with SEScoops, Gable said he’s been asking to prove himself as a singles wrestler for a long time. Gable vowed not to waste the opportunity he has.

Gable responded when asked if he feels like he’s the best wrestler on the main roster right now:

So, you know, all I’ll say is I’ve been asking for a long, long time to prove myself as a singles guy. I’ve felt ready for a long time. I’ve surveyed the scene. I keep a close eye on everybody. And when I say I’m ready — I’m not going to say I’m the best, I’ve got to prove myself to do that, but I believe in myself, I believe that I can prove that.

If I get this opportunity, if that thing with Gunther turns into something bigger, or a bigger opportunity for me, take my word, believe me when I say I’m not going to waste it.

Gable, Otis, and Maxxine Dupri are aligned together as Alpha Academy in WWE.

Gunther retained the Intercontinental title against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.
