Charlotte Flair: ‘Wrestling is in my blood’ but ‘I do want to be a mom’

Charlotte Flair says wrestling is in her blood, but she also wants kids one day.
Flair was a guest on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson in Las Vegas this weekend. During the interview, she was asked how much longer she thinks her in-ring career has left.
“I don’t know. I want kids one day, that’s the thing” Flair answered. “I can do both, but it just depends on the timing.”
When asked if having kids would mean the end of her wrestling career, Flair responded:
“Wrestling’s in my blood. I don’t know any different. I love it, but I do want to be a mom. But I think Trish Stratus coming back and having all these oneoffs and she’s 50, looks better than half the roster. She’s killing it, so I don’t think that door will ever close.”
“It’s just I do know I want to step away to have children,” she added.
Flair is currently one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions along with Alexa Bliss. She was asked on the show if she prefers being a singles or tag wrestler.
“Personally, I like solo. I don’t like sharing the spotlight, but I am in a tag team with the one person I don’t mind sharing the spotlight with, and that’s Alexa Bliss,” Flair responded. “She’s great. She brings out definitely a different side of my character for TV.”
Flair hasn’t wrestled since the August 28 live event in Wales. She and Bliss were scheduled to defend their titles against The Secret Hervice on the August 29 SmackDown, but the match was changed to Alba Fyre vs. Bliss in a singles bout. On the September 5 episode of SmackDown, a backstage segment with Bliss and Flair revealed that Flair was not medically cleared to compete, although it was Bliss’ doll Lilly that made the final decision.
