Chavo Guerrero confirms re-signing with WWE, comments on role with AAA
Chavo Guerrero Jr. confirmed he has re-signed with WWE during a recent interview.
Chavo was reportedly spotted backstage at the June 7 AAA Worlds Collide show in Inglewood, California. Fightful later reported that Chavo was telling people at the event he is back with the company. Chavo told Bill Apter in a recent interview that his new role in WWE is to help with AAA.
“I just re-signed with WWE. I’m putting together, helping out with their AAA show,” he said.
Chavo continued to say about AAA:
“AAA is awesome, was always awesome. Lucha Libre, that’s where my family originated from. So I have a big love of Lucha Libre and just to see AAA under that WWE umbrella is pretty awesome.”
Chavo was also asked about AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio and the Guerrero-style tactics he has been using in his matches as of late.
“He always wanted to be a Guerrero,” Chavo responded. “His dad’s Rey Mysterio, one of the best of all time, but he wanted to be like the Guerreros. So it’s pretty cool to see him actually trying to follow in those steps and kind of just using some lie, cheat, steal Guerrero-isms, it’s pretty cool to see.“
In storyline, Eddie Guerrero was revealed as Dominik’s biological father as part of a 2005 SmackDown storyline, something Dominik referenced during his promo segment with Rey two weeks ago. Dominik told Rey to “keep his father’s name” out of his mouth after Rey had mentioned Eddie.
