Chelsea Green books ‘Red Wedding’ horror movie role

Chelsea Green WWE NXT

WWE star Chelsea Green is set to appear in a newly announced horror movie that is being made by a writer from the “Saw” franchise.

It was announced this week that Green has booked a role in Red Wedding, which stars Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin. Deadline notes that the movie has entered production in Birmingham, Alabama, though it appears that Green has already completed her work on the project.

“This project was incredible,” Green wrote. “I learned so much, I grew as a new actress and I feel blessed to have been chosen to work alongside Josh [Stolberg], Lauren, Rory and so many other talented humans!!”

Stolberg — whose writing credits include Saw X, Jigsaw, and Spiral — is directing the film for Gulfstream Pictures. He penned the Red Wedding script alongside Pete Goldfinger, who Stolberg also worked with on those Saw-related movies.

Red Wedding is the working title of the project. Details regarding Green’s role have not been announced.

“The film follows a teenager and her stepmother who are kidnapped and taken to a remote location as part of a ransom plot, soon discovering their captors are the least of their worries when a deadly bride and groom arrive and begin picking them off one by one,” Deadline wrote.

Culkin is the brother of actors Kieran and Macaulay Culkin.

Chelsea Green’s Hollywood ambitions —

Along with her WWE career, Green takes acting classes and regularly auditions for roles. Acting and hosting are both ambitions for Green, with her willing to work her way up from the bottom and gain respect within the industry. John Cena has helped give Green advice through the friendship Green and her husband Matt Cardona have with Cena and his wife Shay Shariatzadeh.
